Learn to Drive ©

 

A lesson program created by Drive Canada Driving Coaches carefully designed to introduce a new driver to the joys of harnessing equines and putting to vehicles for personal enjoyment. Lesson are arranged in modules, a series of steps with clearly defined skills. The certified coach signs completion for each of the modules as the student learns the tasks and is able to perform them competently.

 

Learn to drive takes a beginning driver through getting acquainted, basic safety, grooming, exercising, harnessing, putting-to, basic gaits, transitions and ring work. Preparing for an outing, showing, introduction to obstacles and marathon driving, braiding, show grooming, harness clearning, trailering safety and loading help prepare the student for a recreational driving, and entry level competitions.

 

While the publication may be used as a guide to training for the new driver, it is best used in conjunction with an Equine Canada certified Driving Coach. For a listing of current coaches, refer here.
